Big West Festival, the leading community-based, contemporary arts festival in Melbourne’s West, has finished for 2011 after 12 days of spectacular events ranging from free outdoor concerts through to theatre, music, children’s days, literature and visual arts.
A biennial festival, Big West stages high quality, cutting edge, multi-cultural and multi-artform events in the venues, cultural sites and suburban streets of the western suburbs, matching places and people in unexpected ways. The Festival is back in 2013 but we’ll be busy in 2012 inviting you to a variety of diverse and edgy events so keep an eye on our website.

Announcing Big West Festival Artistic Director
We are super excited to announce that the Artistic Director for the 2013 Festival is Marcia Ferguson. Marcia is a director, writer, deviser and curator of contemporary performance with a particular interest in experimental, hybrid and community arts. Marcia was most recently in the role of Artistic Associate at Back to Back Theatre and will formally commence at Big West in late May 2012.
